Vacation to Remember! - Gulf Shores, AL

We had a wonderful vacation this year with all the kids - sans Chad. We drove to Gulf Shores, Alabama. We had a condo with Erin, Scott, and Olivia. Erica and Joel were next door with the boys and Jenni and Tim and the girls were down the hall. The condos were very nice. Each girl took one evening to cook an we had some great dinners! We went out to dinner for Jenni's 30th birthday - Lambert's Throwed Rolls. The video shows our stop in Vicksburg and the dolphin cruise.
The trip would have been perfect - if Chad had been there, and if I had not been trying to do homework the whole time!

A new grandson - Elliot!

OKay - so it's only been 5 months since he was born! I've just been a little busy!
This is the video of Elliot's arrival. What a crazy day it was! Erica had set this date for months. Jenni made sure everything was good to go and she had scheduled the best nurses to care for Erica. And then there was the storm! It seemed the whole sky was falling. The L&D was full to maximum capacity - so Erica and Elliot were removed from the delivery schedule.
I got the call at 4:00 a.m. from Jenni. I knew Erica was going to be upset. But Jenni was persistent and talked the Charge Nurse into letting Erica come in as soon as there was a room available. Jenni and Erin were at our house. Jenni had arranged for the charge nurse to call us first, so we got to the hospital before Erica and Joel arrived. We got the room decorated with balloons and signs! It was really cute and Erica was very surprised!
As labors, go, it went pretty quickly and was not too bad (easy for me to say!). Erica was so sweet to allow Erin and Jenni to be present for the delivery, along with Suzanne and me. It was really special! Erin set up the delivery tray and Jenni took care of Elliot after he was born.
Now for Elliot! He is really a special little guy! I have never seen a baby that is as happy as he. He smiles most of the time and he is really cuddely.
What a great day for our family - 6 grandchildren. Whew!

My new Flip Video

Danny gave me a Flip Video camera for my birthday. (Well, he actually gave me a gift certificate so I could personalize it and order it online). I finally got it and had a chance to use it tonight when we took Olivia to Bass Pro Shop after we ate dinner at CiCi's. I think I am really going to enjoy this camera!

Happy Birthday - Olivia - 3 yrs. old!!

We kept our guests in the dog crate!

We had a great weekend. Olivia's party was on Saturday. Cilla and Michael stayed at our house with Caroline and Catherine. We really enjoyed having them and they were perfect! There must have been 100 kids at Olivia's party - not really, but it seemed like it. It was a wonderful day, but a little bit hot. The kids are all so cute and they are growing so fast! I can't believe we will be adding another one into the mix pretty soon!

Meet My Grandchildren!

Meet Emily Grace - daughter of Jenni and Tim. Emily is almost 8 years old (birthday June 17). She is in 2nd grade and does very well in school. She loves to read and she also loves math. She writes great stories and is very imaginative and creative!

Emily is the oldest of my grandchildren and she has just grown up way too fast! She is a beautiful, loving little girl, but sometimes a little stubborn (I don't know where she gets that trait!).

Emily and her sister, Macey, are best friends and do most everything together. They both take gymnastics and they are doing a great job!

I love to spend time with Emily! She loves to swim, go shopping, go to movies and do all GIRL things!

This is Macey Alyce - or I call her Macey Mo, or just plain "Mo Mo." Macey was 6 years old on January 5. She is the youngest daughter of Jenni and Tim.

My little Mo Mo is in kindergarten this year and is doing very well! She is learning to read and loves to play school with Emily. She writes and draws and likes to play with her American girl dolls. She is all girl - loves to wear dresses and loves her long beautiful hair! She is in the midst of losing her teeth and is currently missing one of the top ones.

Macey was recently in JoeJoe's and Megan's wedding and was one of the three cutest flower girls! After the wedding, she danced the night away with Stacy, her uncle Bob's niece. Just like all the others, Macey is adorable and I love to spend time with her.

This is Clayton D. - break dancing! Clayton belongs to Erica and Joel. He is now 6 years old and his birthday is March 5. He recently was a very handsome little ring bearer for my nephew, Joey's wedding and he looked so grown up and did a great job. Then, he danced the night away at the reception.

Clayton is in kindergarten and is doing very well. He likes to write stories and illustrate them. They are very creative and fun to read! He is full of life, but very sensitive. He has had lots of practice being a great big brother and he is excited to do it again when Elliot gets here! His true loves are dinosaurs and anything or anyone related to Star Wars! May the force be with you, young Jeti! You are precious!

Oliver John - February 2.

Oliver is three-years-old, little brother to Clayton and soon to be big brother to Elliot! Even with a dirty face, he is adorable! He is a mommy's boy, but is getting a little better about giving me great big hugs.

Not long ago, we took him out to eat wearing a Chewbacca costume with a spider glove on one hand. He was very serious about the whole thing! He is definitely all boy - snips and snails and puppy dog tails! Loves to be outside playing in the sand! Has achieved the potty-training task and is now sleeping in a big-boy bed! He is just growing up too fast and I'm sure he will seem a lot bigger when the new baby brother gets here.

This is Olivia, the youngest (at least for now). Her mom is Erin and her dad is Scott. She will be three on April 5. She has her mom's personality - happy-go-lucky with a contagious laugh. She brings joy to all our lives!

We are very proud of her because she is now potty-trained! What an accomplishment! Babyhood is left behind and it seems to be big girl all the way now! I can't wait to spend more time with her this summer.

She is all girl - bows, jewelry, curls and all!

OK - I guess I have to blog, too!

Erica and Jenni have done such a wonderful job with blogging, so I feel like I need to do something to keep up! I'm thinking this is a great way to keep up with pictures and feelings and I really want to have a forum to share with my grandkids! I am so, so blessed with such a wonderful family and sometimes it is just difficult to express my feelings. Maybe this will be a great method! Let's see if I can find the time to keep up!
